Linda has recently been appointed to Knox as our Minister of Spiritual Development.

Linda hales from the land of waving wheat fields and spectacular sunsets.  She grew up in Regina and completed her early education there. She is a graduate of The University of Calgary, St. Stephen’s College in Edmonton and St. Andrew’s College in Saskatoon. But besides all that she is the grandmother of four fine grandsons (Jordan, Nelson, Aemon and Nicky); two beautiful children (Dawn and her partner Andrew, Brendan and his partner Heather) and married to Gordon, another Minister in the family. She loves playing Scrabble (anyone up for a game?), watching Downton Abbey on PBS and cheering for her favourite football team whose team colours are green and white. (When you are born in Saskatchewan you must cheer for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  It’s in the DNA!) Knox has become a very special spiritual home for her, surrounded as she is by such a loving community of faith.

David will be helping us out at Knox over the summer months.

Dave Crawford was raised in Calgary and continues to identify himself as a Calgarian despite his many years away from this great city.   Having majored in Religious Studies (Eastern Traditions) at the University of Calgary Dave felt a call to study for ministry at Vancouver School of Theology from 1989-1993.  He was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church in Canada in Eckville, Alberta in July of 1993.

Dave’s memories of living and serving in Eckville for almost four years remain vivid.  Ask him sometime about playing old-timers hockey against Brian Sutter, for a bit of a laugh.  Dave later served at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Banff, Braeside/St. Albert and Rundle Memorial United in Banff.   His most recent ministerial work was a 10-week stint at McDougall United as a sabbatical supply minister, a brief but very rewarding period of ministry.  Since 2011 Dave has also served part-time as Chaplain at Mineral Springs Hospital, Banff.  He continues in this chaplaincy work as he serves at Knox this summer.

Dave enjoys golf (at least the good days), World Cup Soccer (till July 13th), hiking, opera, choral music, and Japanese culture.  Dave was blessed to marry Miho in 2002 and, like Linda, both Miho and Dave are Downton Abbey fans.  Dave looks forward to his time within the Knox community over the summer, and is grateful for the opportunity.
