In the passage from Psalm 31 we have a man who is terrified of his enemies, but he has enough faith in God to beg for God’s help, for God to be a refuge, for God to hear his pleas, to be a strong fortress, to save him from his enemies. I wonder what happened to this young David or young man to transform him from killing Goliath and becoming King of Israel.

1 Peter 4:1-8

In this letter Peter is urging the Jewish people to give up their sinful ways and maintain constant love for one another. He also urges them to be good stewards of God’s grace so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. This Peter is greatly changed from the Peter who denied Jesus three times. I think the change occurred after Peter had met the risen Lord.

Matthew 27:57-66

In this passage we read about a secret disciple of Jesus, also named Jesus who had great faith and courage to go to Pilate and ask for Jesus’ body. Pilate granted permission. Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in a newly created tomb which was sealed with a heavy stone. I am impressed that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary had courage to sit and watch all that went on just as Jesus had prophesied.  ♥
