By reading Matthew 6:1-6; 16-21 it brings to memory one of my greatest life’s blessings; the blessing of helping and welcoming immigrant families to Canada. As an immigrant myself, I can relate to my arrival to North America with only one suitcase and one handbag, however, my mind was full of dreams and my heart eager to be fulfilled. There were angels on earth that poured their blessings upon us and allowed us to start our new life.
In recent years, I was able to create a network, allowing us to obtain many necessities for families starting a new life.
Each Spring and Fall the network obtains from families those items that they have no further use for, be it clothing that no longer fits, to little children finding pleasure in giving up toys they no longer play with so that some other person could enjoy them. My heart is full, as one of the greatest moments is when you witness in the eyes and smiles of all, especially of the children in both giving or receiving, when they arrive to their new homes and find toys, clothes, and other necessities.
To me, this is living the Gospel of Christ and for that I am thankful to be just a part of this beautiful experience. ♥
