Scripture: Psalm 51:1-17
(The Chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan, the Prophet, came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba)
Recognition, Repentance and Forgiveness
Recognizing that one has committed a sin is only the first step. You also need to acknowledge the harm it has caused and then eliminate the selfishness that is expressed by the sin.
The sin may not be forgotten, but it can be forgiven. Accepting forgiveness is more challenging because you may feel that you are not deserving of it. One can’t let sin become an anchor that holds you back. It should motivate you to become a better person.

Forgiving and compassionate God, I turn to you and know that you shall help me to know wisdom. Help me to hear joy and gladness again. Forgive me and motivate me to become a better person.
